Out with the old, in with the new blog

I decided it was time to upgrade to a new blog.  Talk about a learning curve!  So much to learn about wordpress but I will get there.  My old blog site was just plain boring and outdated.  I wanted something a bit more professional and have heard so many great things about wordpress that I thought I would make the switch.

I have really been on a dead run lately.  Only a few more days until we have a magazine photo shoot with Country Living Magazine in our home.  I am really excited to meet and great the crew!  It is amazing just how much preparation goes into a photo shoot from what I have gathered so far.  I have been primping our home and finishing tasks that would of otherwise been blown off till who knows when.

I can’t wait to meet the very talented Prop stylist, Heather Bullard!  I have heard so many wonderful things about her and look forward to watching her in action!  I still have to pinch myself!  I just can’t believe this is happening!  I am looking forward to sharing my experience with you.  In the meantime, I thought I would share with you an updated image of the exterior of our home.  I know that I have had numerous requests.

We still have lots to do on the exterior of our mill house.  To the left of the photo we will be adding a pergola , and to the right will be our attached garage which will look like a carriage house with another cupola on the roof.  On the backside of the garage will be a sunroom off the kitchen.  Landscape…..thats another story!  Hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day!  We will get there eventually as our budget allows.

So I hope you’ll enjoy reading each and every one of my posts as well as viewing my images of what is going on  at the mill house and more!

Here is a photo of what we started with.  We had to add a few beams to the interior to add strength to that side of the structure before it could be moved to our property.  So this is shown being moved from its original location.  It is amazing how this huge old building can just be loaded onto this trailer and hauled.  Not even one piece fell off of this old gal!  I held my breath the whole time for fear of it collapsing !  Whew!
